Hundred of shoes of all sizes representing the hundreds of thousand of Iraqi civilians, and thousands of US soldiers killed the past 4 years of the war. The shoes bear the tags of the name, age, and the place of death. This peaceful protest is organized on Saturday, Mar 17, 2007 by the CodePink's local Monterey chapter, a women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement.

Nowhere in the world will you see a lunar new year parade with more gorgeous floats, elaborate costumes, ferocious lions, exploding firecrackers, and of course the newly crowned Miss Chinatown U.S.A. and her court. A crowd favorite is the spectacular 201’ Golden Dragon “Gum Lung". It takes a team of over 100 men and women from the martial arts group, White Crane to carry this dragon throughout the streets of San Francisco. Chinese New Year parade was directed by SF Chinese Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Southwest Airlines.

Named one of the top ten Parades in the world by IFEA, the Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco is one of the few remaining night illuminated Parades in the country. Started in the 1860’s by the Chinese in San Francisco as a means to educate the community about their culture, the Parade and Festival have grown to be the largest celebration of Asian culture outside of Asia. Since 1958, the parade has been under the direction of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

New Year Eve 2006 firework at Ferry Building & Embarcaredo Waterfront in San Francisco
A very large crowd of few hundred thousands people with flashes of light gathered along the waterfront to watch the huge San Francisco fireworks spectacular at The Embarcadero Waterfront and to welcome the New Year 2007 with the bangs. The focal point of the firework is Ferry Building on the Embarcadero Waterfront is seen on the left of the firework. This panoramic photo was taken within first 3 minutes of the year.

During the 01SJ Festival, this Urban Observatory at Circle of Palms in San Jose, California will allow visitors to virtually explore San Jose and the Bay Area in a new artistic way. Digital video projection on the internal screens produces the mediated experience. The virtual movement through the surrounding environment facilitates the creation of a map and digital file containing an itinerary based upon the experience within the structure, and gives locations and opening times of the specific points of interest chosen.

Urban Observatory, created by Michael Herrman, Bruce Gardner, Ethan Miller, artists in Residence at Montalvo Arts Center. It was commissioned with the support of the James Irvine Foundation and displayed at Circle of Palms as part of "01SJ", a Global Festival of Art on the Edge from Jun 4-8, 2008 in San Jose, California. Video projections, handmade translucent polyester resin and fiberglass panels made up the observatory that functions for those both within it and those around it. From the exterior, the projection illuminates the surfaces and allows the video and images shown on the interior to be seen. The cable-suspended handmade translucent screens onto which the projection occurs, appear to float within the frame.

Digital public art, the 'Incursion" by artist John Walsh with digital giant tentacled aliens invading City Hall kicked off the "01SJ", a Global Festival of Art on the Edge, from Jun 4-8, 2008, in San Jose, California. World Without Oil did its part in the festival opening, receiving an honorary mention for “making a sustainable difference by challenging the norm and melding ideas, art and technology” in the Green Prix Award for Environmental Art sponsored by Salas O’Brien.

This VR panorama of digital public art is the original scene (no photoshopped, no kidding) of Digital Graffiti by T.J. Barne, PHT and other students at MAW (Minneapolis Art on Wheels) of UMN (University of Minnesota) during 01SJ, a Global Festival of Art on the Edge in San Jose, California. MAW is a community art endeavor initiated by Art and IPCA Professor Ali Momeni at the UMN. Inspired by Graffiti Research Labs, the principal tool of the MAW project is three MBUs ((Mobile Broadcast Units). Each MBU consists of: 1) a specially designed three wheeled bicycle; 2) a very powerful projector capable of projecting 60′ by 40′ images outdoors; 3) a small generator to provide power; 4) a battery powered sound system; 5) a powerful laser pointer; 6) a camera and real-time software for tracking the laser pointer so as to allow the drawing on buildings in real-time.

"Bark In The Park" - is a canine premier event for dog lovers and their pets to raise fund with big dogs, little dogs, skilled dogs, and not so skilled dogs. Here is the "Flyball" show. So, what is "Flyball Dogs"? Two Teams of four dogs compete against each other over an obstacle course of 4 jumps, a springloaded box with a tennis ball and then back over the 4 jumps to their over excited handler. As the first dog is returning the next team dog is released for their turn. The first team to complete the course wins the heat.
