Gilroy City

Gilroy is the southernmost city in Santa Clara County, California, US. The population is 49,649 as of Jan 1, 2007, making it the 173th largest city in the state.You can visit the site of an ancient Ohlone Village at Chitactac Adams Park. The first inhabitants in this valley were the Ohlone Indians. Gilroy is well known for its garlic crop, the World's Garlic Capitol and its climate providing year-round recreational opportunities. The Gilroy Garlic Festival which occurs in July annually, featuring various garlicky foods including garlic ice cream. City of Gilroy is also home of Silicon Valley's wineries; the family theme park Gilroy Gardens, and the Gilroy Premium Outlets with collection of 145 stores from world's leading designers and brand names.
